NEON Citizen Science Academy

Would you like your learners to become Citizen Scientists and learn about phenology and climate issues?

The NEON Citizen Science Academy offers online courses for K-12 Formal and Informal educators wanting to incorporate citizen science into their educational programs. Each course is completely online and generally take 10-30 hours to complete.

PlantWatch is a program which engages Canadians of all ages in tracking key bloom events of indicator plant species. The PlantWatch Educators Guide is geared toward grades 4-6. Curriculum matches for every province and territory in Canada are described.

The National Ecological Observatory Network (NEON) is offering a new online
course for educators focused on its successful citizen science program – *PBB
- 501 Project BudBurst: Introduction to Plant Phenology and Climate Change.
* This inaugural offering is *being offered at no charge *to K-12 educators
and is suited for both formal and informal educational settings.
