The Walden Woods Project’s Thoreau Institute is offering a professional development summer seminar for high school educators and graduate students of education. Now in its 14th year, this interdisciplinary workshop uses Henry David Thoreau's ethic and his experience at Walden Woods as a model for place-based education, and features a daily mix of lectures, field trips, readings, discussions, and reflection time. Participants in the program have the option of earning professional development points (PDPs) or three graduate credits through Fitchburg State College.
