Summer Camp Overnight Coordinator

The URI Environmental Education Center is situated on 2,300 acres of forests, wetlands, and old farmlands. Dedicated to environmental education, the Center has been offering quality day and residential programs for over 30 years. The residential camp facilities include a knotty pine dining lodge with field stone fireplaces, hardwood floors, and six meeting rooms. The grounds include 10 miles of hiking trails, 200 acres of open fields and meadows, a waterfront on a private 75-acre lake and much more.

The Eco-Zone Day Camp utilizes the botanically unique Nettie Marie Jones Nature Preserve. The Nature Preserve has woodland and swamp trails, fields, wildflower meadows, brooks, and a classroom building all adjacent to 75 acre Lake Eisenhower. Day C

The Woodvale Farm Day Camp utilizes the historic 19th century Woodvale farm, which is home to sheep, goats, chickens, pigs, rabbits, and ducks. The scenic pastures, organic gardens, historical barn, and farm classroom provide an ideal day camp setting. Eco-Zone Day Camp has woodland and swamp trails, fields, wildflower meadows, brooks, and a classroom build next to the lake.

With 2,300 acres of lakes, forests, and farmland, the W. Alton Jones Campus offers an immense outdoor classroom that’s perfect for learning, exploration, adventure, and fun! At W. Alton Jones students gain an understanding and appreciation of the natural world while learning about themselves and working collaboratively with others.
