Spring Season Interns on New Jersey's Tall Ship

The Bayshore Center at Bivalve, a non-profit grassroots environmental organization, owns and operates the authentically restored 1928 Oyster Schooner, AJ Meerwald, as a floating classroom promoting stewardship of the Delaware Estuary and its environs. The sailing program includes participation in prepared learning stations, sailing the vessel, and promoting the organization.

The Wetlands Institute is a non-profit organization in southern New Jersey whose mission is to promote appreciation, understanding and stewardship of wetlands and coastal ecosystems through our programs in research, education and conservation. Interns will help lead programs for all ages, work directly with live marine animals, teach outreach programs, and work on a variety of other programs and special events to promote the New Jersey Shore and its spectacular salt marshes to tourists and residents.

The education intern will work with the education staff assisting with the preparation for and facilitation of pre K-12 field trips and assembly programs. Interns will assist in prepping materials for hands-on outreach programs, as well as for the nature center.

We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, individual to work in our rehabilitation hospital, beginning in spring or summer. Interns will deal directly with the public while facilitating animal intakes and will also assist with direct animal care and our environmental enrichment program.

Come to work in NW New Jersey (near Delaware Water Gap)! Teaching kids about the environment during Fall school sessions. Typically 5th-8th grade students come for a 3 day stay to learn more about our woods, swamp, lake and more.
Training will be 2 weeks in Sept and the season runs to Thanksgiving. Camp runs 7 days a week with EE Mon-Fri and Conference groups F-Sun.
