Bryant Pond 4-H Camp and Learning Center is seeking qualified, high-energy individuals to work in our Lakeside Classroom (a residential env. education center). This position ideally requires a seven-month commitment helping to create community. Candidates will be considered for any of the three seasons; spring, summer or fall. The primary responsibility of Field Teachers is providing students with high quality programming in ecology, teambuilding, challenge course, engineering and outdoor skills.
The UMaine 4H program is entering year five of a grant funded initiative through the National Mentoring Program. 4H staff deliver the “4H Tech Wizards Program,” a youth mentoring program designed to use STEM and service learning as a motivating factor in improving young peoples’ school attendance, performance, and aspirations for the future. This position is a field teaching and program delivery role designed to work with youth and teens in mentoring and STEM-focused service-learning.

Hurricane Island is a small field science, sustainability, and leadership education non-profit based in mid-coast Maine. We operate on Hurricane Island, a small, 125 acre island 12 miles offshore Maine from April to October, and run in-school programs for Maine students in the winter.

The Ecology School provides experiential ecology education for K-8th grade students from schools throughout New England. The Ecology School hires 16 Ecology Educators each term to teach in its various programs which begin each Monday morning and end each Friday afternoon. Educators work primarily with the residential programs (school groups on site for up to a week at a time) but may also spend time delivering day programs (day long field trips for school groups) or outreach (in school programming).
Work on the coast of Maine with the renowned National Audubon Society's Project Puffin. After 2 weeks living and working as a field biologist on an offshore seabird nesting island, you'll be learning how to narrate eco-tourism cruises for the general public, as well as working two days a week indoors at the Project Puffin Visitor Center. Help out with all logistics necessary to support seven seabird island field stations. Act as an ambassador for the Seabird Restoration Program. etc.
The Univ. of Maine’s Tanglewood 4H Center is seeking field teachers. You'll provide a hands-on, ecology immersion for students in the spring and fall and work at one of our two camps during the summer. Our mission is to teach Maine youth and adults to be effective and caring citizens of the Earth through affordable environmental education. Tanglewood has 900+ acres of forest, extensive hiking trails, and a pristine river in Lincolnville. Blueberry Cove camp is on the ocean in Tenants, Harbor.
The Ecology School is hiring educators for our spring season (March 16- June 5, 2015). Educators teach ecosystem based lessons to students in the 3-8th grade in addition to sharing meals with students and living on site.
