Scallop Project Research Assistant

Applications due February 16, 2015. This position is only for certified Open Water SCUBA divers. Research assistants will be helping in an ongoing scallop project assessing the effectiveness of a closed area in Penobscot Bay, Maine, to scallop dragging.

Sustainable Technology Internship

Applications are due February 16, 2015. This 10 week internship, starting June 15, 2015 will work with our island staff to maintain our sustainable infrastructure on Hurricane Island, a learning community that supports field-science, leadership, and sustainability initiatives and works with middle and high school students running summer and school programs.

Bryant Pond 4-H Camp and Learning Center is seeking qualified, high-energy individuals to work in our Lakeside Classroom (a residential env. education center). This position ideally requires a seven-month commitment helping to create community. Candidates will be considered for any of the three seasons; spring, summer or fall. The primary responsibility of Field Teachers is providing students with high quality programming in ecology, teambuilding, challenge course, engineering and outdoor skills.

The Ecology School at Ferry Beach is hiring educators for our September 2- November 7, 2014 term to teach in its various programs which begin each Monday morning and end each Friday afternoon. Educators work primarily with the residential programs (school groups on site for up to a week at a time) but may also spend time delivering day programs (day long field trips for school groups) or outreach (in school programming).

The primary responsibilities will be running the Nature Store, including merchandising, cash out and inventory. This position requires managing volunteers. You also have the opportunity to lead educational programs in Maine's largest salt marsh. This position runs from mid April until mid September.
