The Oregon Parks and Recreation Department has one (1) permanent, full-time position at their headquarters in Salem, Oregon. This position is represented by Association of Engineering Employees.
The Visitor Experience, Planning and Design Sections are located within the Integrated Park Services (IPS) Division of the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department (OPRD)
The Visitor Experience Section coordinates and provides support for a broad range of programmed activities including interpretation, outdoor recreation, outdoor skills, volunteers, partners, park events, environmental education programs designed to create memorable experiences for park visitors.
This position will work with IPS manager, visitor experience coordinators, and regional field managers to provide guidance on technical assistance and assessment of program information on all aspects of the visitor experience program. Recommends program and inter-divisional teams and represents the agency regionally, statewide, and nationally in these disciplines. The position will require evaluation of program standards, processes and methods and recommends innovative and improved approaches. The delivery of services is to the field and directly to the visitor including programmed recreation activities (interpretation, environmental education, volunteers, etc.), developing training, organizing conferences, identifying future visitor and activity trends, as well as assessing visitor satisfaction and quality.
