The
Academic Coordinator (Natural Resources & Environmental Sciences program
(NRES)) will provide coordination of the NRES academic program, an
interdisciplinary BS program overseen by a faculty Steering Committee. The
Academic Coordinator will maintain alumni relationships, communications and
outreach to current and potential students and stakeholders; develop internship
opportunities; design and implement outcomes assessments; and teach at least
one course. The Academic Coordinator will be responsible for coordination of
the NRES academic program, including e-mail and web-based communication with
NRES majors, NRES course scheduling and catalog preparation, enrollment tracking
and status reports to the Steering Committee, summer camp logistics and module
scheduling, initial academic advising for transfers and freshmen, tracking for
off-campus internships and independent research experiences, and planning of an
annual NRES Internship Forum. The Academic Coordinator will publish a regular
NRES newsletter for current majors, alumni, and stakeholders; maintain and
update the NRES web site; facilitate communication with related departments,
programs and stakeholders. The Academic Coordinator will contribute to
recruiting efforts in collaboration with the college Office of Academic
Programs to attract new students to NRES. Coordinator will provide oversight of
the three-week summer camp program and teach one summer camp module, and take
full teaching responsibility for one undergraduate NRES course. The Academic
Coordinator will also administer the Senior Exit Survey, secure post-internship
performance information from collaborating organizations for all student
internship experiences, and track post-graduate employment for NRES majors.
Minimum qualifications are Masters Degree and three years of related experience
or the equivalent. Oral & written communication, publishing, outreach and
academic programs experience, familiarity with fields of natural resources and
environmental science, data analysis, and survey instruments are preferred.
